Busy Body

Oh blogspot how I've missed you! sorry I havent been updating up, I've been so overwhelmed with work. But still, no excuse, I promise I will try to update more frequently!

Some updates on East Urban:
  • lots of new jewels
  • Thanksgiving day sale
  • working on launching our own site from eBay
There are some nights where I go to bed wondering where East Urban is headed, and I think of all the competition out there and I get really upset. Then, I wake up the next morning, right to fight for what I love! Sometimes, the only option left is to believe in yourself.

New posts on how to create an arm candy set and maybe an outfit of the day? I had my boyfriend take pics of my recent outfit but he failed miserably at it because he was hungry and moody. -_- boys.

anyways, good night!

Street Fashion Trend: Varsity Jackets

Mini H&M Haul:

Chain Necklace $5.95//Men's Maroon Beanie $10//Snake print Trousers $29.95

So I came up with this outfit for the East Urban LookBook:

I love this version of the Varsity Jacket the most because it's a little oversized for a more effortless approach as opposed to the cropped ones I've been seeing a lot of. It is also light and thin which makes it much easier to layer without looking bulky.

Hoped you enjoyed this look!

All American Woman

I have a very well rounded style. It depends on the mood I am in and what triggers my creativity when I see an article of clothing. As soon as I saw this skirt, I immediately thought of what I owned in my closet and how I could use those pieces to style this pleated skirt. So I threw in a denim button down to add texture, wrapped a leopard scarf around my neck to accommodate fall  and added nude pumps and a square face watch for a classic finish.

My Essential Shoes for Fall

I decided to pull out some shoes out of my closet to make my outfit choices a little easier this fall. I think you'll notice a pattern with the shoes I buy haha. My two favorite places to buy shoes is Zara, usually when they have a sale, and forever 21, mostly because they are inexpensive so I don't mind if they get scuffed up. Its all about fashion on a budget!

1.Combat-ish boots-Zara // 2. Patent Faux Leather Loafers-Zara // 3. Booties-XX21 // 4.Mary Jane-XX21 // 5. Sneaker Wedges-Sample for EU // 6. Wedge ankle boots-Zara

My newest pair are the Sneaker Wedges and I am so in love with them! This past summer I bought a similar pair from H&M in a nude pink color without the heel but rarely ever wore them because they made me look so frumpy and short! These are the perfect pair because they add length to my frame and are still as comfortable as regular sneakers! Whether these will be available on East Urban will depend on the demand.

And here are shoes I'm looking forward to adding to my Collection:

Fall Shoe Wish List

Zara boots
zara.com
This is actually a splurge for me, not quite sure if I'm ready to bite the bullet for this one, but I am in love with this Chloe dupe.

H&M high heel pumps
$80 - hm.com
Must have for fall are closed toe classic pumps!

Forever 21 pointy boots
forever21.com
I love combat boots, and I love this pair in particular because of the heel!

Forever 21
forever21.com
I prefer these over the Lita's because its a little more refined and slightly less grungy, however, that's just my personal style.

Now I'm off to dreaming about these shoes!

Love,
Mel

NEW WORK BAG!

First off, I think its time to formally introduce myself. My name is Melinda and I am a 24 year old entrepreneur. I am the owner of an eBay store called East Urban, that sells apparel and accessories inspired by High Street Fashion from New York and Asia.

This blog is where I will share all my adventures, ideas and inspiration for East Urban with you. Now lets get to the chase:

Coming Soon to East Urban, and now officially my new work bag is this Colorblock Luggage Tote inspired by Celine.
Retail= $45

I love this bag because it is very room and functional. The exterior feels like real leather and durable, the inside has a smooth suede like texture.

ZARA: The Perfect Essential Trousers

I am loving all of Zara's trousers! I think they are the perfect combination of trendy and basic. The tailoring and quality of these pants give off an illusion that they are designer! They are each timeless pieces and perfectly price!

I plan on purchasing these pieces:

1) Camouflage trousers with zips.....$59.90
I will be wearing this fall's street fashion trend (camo) as pants instead of the parka.

2) Diamond Print Trousers...............$79.90
I love the look of relax harem pants, but because I am petite, they just don't look right on me. So instead I'm opting for a silhouette that is a little more structured. I'm also a big fan of the "PJ's" look.

3) Light Satin Jeans..........................$59.90
If you usually wear more monochromatic mute colors like I do, red skinnies are an easy way to add a pop of color to your outfit.

4) Coated Trousers with zip.............$79.90
I want to wear these with everything this fall! Especially oversized jumpers and military style booties!

Love,
Mel

Fall Trend Guide Part 1: Color Pallete

Honestly, after going through tons of designer runway shows on the web, I've concluded that this is probably the most colorful fall season yet. I see lots of jewel tones mixed with pewter, whites, light taupe and light pastel colors with and dark colors. And since I am still enjoying those fresh spring colors and slowly warming up to those dark romantic ones, I am ready (and excited) for fall!

My Fall Color Palette:

Still loving mint. Also, my new inspiration is the black added as a "pop" of color.

Nicole Richie for Macy's

I looove Nicole's boho chic style and jewelry line, House of Harlow, so when I first heard about this, I was really excited to check it out! (Officially in stores and online now).

Overall, I enjoyed the collection and thought it really exuded her signature style. I wish they would have used a different background in these pictures though, it's really hard to tell what some of the pieces look like.

Well anyways, here are my favorites:

Pieces Range from $39-$129. Source: Macy's

I don't think I'll actually buy anything but if I were to, it would the the leather sleeve top.

Does anyone else plan on shopping her collection?

Gimmicky Lip Products?

 From Left to Right:
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick
I give this product 3 stars(out of 5). It's great as a stain(more of a glossy stain), I love how smoothly it glides on and the color is very pigmented. But the reason I rated it a 3 is because it sucks as a lip balm! Makes your lips feel moisturized but honestly, dries up my lips within 30 minutes.

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain in Cherish
I love Revlon's lipstains for their color choices but Cherish is not for naturally dark lips. The color that best suites me is Passion and that's the only reason why I buy this lipstain. It doesn't last for very long, so you constantly have to reapply, it runs out really fast and the tip dries out quickly. And i don't even touch the balm.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo
OMG. I've been wanting something like this for some time now. Its such a unique formula that is kind of like...a lipstain meets a lipstick. And they have beautiful blush tone colors. Just make sure you have on a good chapstick on, beforehand or your lips will dry out -still not as drying as Revlon's Balm stain though.

Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
This is my personal favorite. It is the most pigmented lip balm I have ever used and at the same time very buildable and sheer. It keeps my lips moisturized throughout the day and the color lasts for a good few hours. The only thing is that I wish they had more colors. Next color I'm aiming for is Tutti Frutti.

Conclusion:
Yes. I personally do find them quite gimmicky. But, I love them nonetheless. Its fun to try on and they are unique.
-Try the lip butters, I HIGHLY recommend them.
-Buy your Revlon products from HEB, if you have access to one, they usually have a $2-3 dollars off coupon, this is the only time I buy their products.

Hoped you guys enjoyed my review and my first post ;).
